Wellness Committee
The Wellness Committee meets monthly on the second Tuesday of the month in the Sullivan County School District Conference Room at 8:00am. during the school year.
The purpose of this committee is to promote good nutrition and physical activity throughout all aspects of the educational environment.
This committee also addresses the cafeteria concerns of the public and students. The public is invited to the meetings as well as the Youth Advisory Committees. Topics such as portion control, healthy choices, childhood obesity, and menu choices are discussed.
The original Wellness Policy was approved by the Sullivan County School Board on June 27, 2006. The implementation will commence on July 1, 2006. The policy was approved by the Pennsylvania Department of Education, Division of Food and Nutrition, on July 22, 2008. The most recent policy was adopted on August 19, 2014 and reviewed and revised on November 20, 2018. The policy may be viewed by selecting the "Administration" tab on the homepage and selecting "District Policies".
