Big things are growing at Sullivan County Elementary! 🌳

A huge shout-out and a heartfelt THANK YOU to the crew at the Sullivan County REC for coming out today to help us prep for a very special addition to our playground. They generously donated their time and equipment to drill the hole for our brand-new tree!

This tree is a beautiful gift from the Class of 2025. 🎓 In choosing this gift, the class shared fond memories of the hours they spent playing, cooling off, and dreaming under the shade of the trees on our playground. They wanted to make sure that future generations of students have that same wonderful experience for years to come.

We can’t wait to get this tree in the ground and watch it grow alongside our students. Stay tuned for more photos to come once the planting is official! 📸✨

We are pleased to share that the issue with our sewer treatment facility has been fully resolved and the system is now functioning properly. School will resume as regularly scheduled tomorrow, Thursday, April 16, 2026. We look forward to welcoming everyone back. Thank you for your patience and understanding!

Due to issues with the district's sewer treatment facility not functioning properly, Sullivan County School District will be dismissing early today Wednesday, April 15, 2026 at 12:00 PM. All afterschool activities are canceled, with the exception of the track and field meet. Track athletes will receive further direction from their coaching staff and our athletic director. We appreciate your understanding as we work to address the situation and ensure a safe environment for students and staff. Please make any necessary arrangements for your child's early dismissal.

Three Sullivan County Elementary School (SCES) students—Grady Apichella (3rd grade), Savannah Ely (4th grade), and Addison Smith (1st grade)—have been selected for the Pennsylvania Art Education Association’s (PAEA) online gallery in celebration of Youth Art Month. Grady Apichella also earned the Region 8 Award in the 2026 Juried Exhibition and will be recognized in a virtual ceremony on March 27 at 5PM via zoom.
